in need to reflect…

17 04 2008

Sigh, I am tired. I love photography, ohh I really do. I adore it. I don’t want it to loose any of its spark. Sometimes, you have to switch up the artistic mediums a bit. Yes, I have been painting some. Yes, I still choreograph. Yes, I play piano every single day when I can, and when I can’t, I crave it. I’m craving for the things that make me alive. As always, I’m reevaluating why I create, what I love and who I strive to be. It’s healthy to be continually humbled in all that you do. I am more than blessed to do what I do - and have come so far even only looking back over this past year.

Sometimes, you just need to sit. Silent. Reflect on how far you’ve come and appreciate your work. Once you’re finished and gleamed what you will - you move forward with more ‘umph’ and drive - a new kick of alive; something fresh. I’ve wanted to do this recently.. but I’ve been unable to do it to the extent that I would like to. Right now it’s only reflection in bite size pieces - but I need something lengthy pretty soon.

So, remember to reflect… it’s one of the most important things in creating and being an artist.

[I am writing this, just now getting home 20 minutes ago; 3 hours of sleep last night; woke up at 4AM to take Jess and Dan to the Columbus airport; spent a little time seeing a good friend and headed back home; it's been quite the long day]

I totally know what you mean…. I felt every word.

This is the first time in months that I have had a chance to sit and be silent… and I am savoring every moment of it. God is good, isn’t he?

Just to let you know, I am a friend of Daley’s and found you through his blog. Keep going… your photography work is STUNNING.
